Giorgi Tevzadze finished the faculty of law with honors. Since 1987, he has been actively participated in the National Emancipatory Movement, leading the human right protection group. He had been presiding over the human right protection committee of St. Ilia the Righteous association of whole Georgia in “round table” till December 1991. He had been serving as one of the founders and president of the human right protection and social support foundation for prisoners since 1992. Since 1997, he had been affiliated as the attorney, the member of the Georgian Bar Association. Since -1998 – founder and president of the international organization for human right protection and social support of prisoners. Since 2000 – personal member of International organization “Amnesty International”.

2000 –2004 – member of
the independent control board of penitential system of the Ministry
of Justice of Georgia. In 2002–2004 – member of the independent
board of public control of main military prosecutor’s office of
Georgia. Since 2006 – member of the LEPL Georgian Bar Association,
criminal attorney. Since 2008 – cofounder and a member of
government of Georgian bar independent professional boards. Since
2009 –member of the advisory board of Georgian State Constitutional
Committee. Since 2010 – member of analytical committee and elected
criminal committee of Georgian Bar Association. Since 2011 – member
of the attorney right protection committee of Georgian Bar
Association. Since 2011 – deputy chairperson of united board
(federation) of Veterans’ organizations of Armed Forces, conflicts
and war – the member of the Veterans World Federation of Central
and East Europe, curator in legal, legislative and executive
authorities. Since 2011 - Ombudsman of Georgian Veterans, elected
by the Veteran organizations; Since January 12, 2012 – party of the
memorandum-concluded between the Georgian Veterans ombudsmen and
Public Prosecutor of Georgia. Since 2012 – observer of the acting
medical and social issues committee of the department of Veterans’
Affairs of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, as participation of
Veterans ombudsmen. Within September-December of 2012 – member of
public monitoring group of penitentiary system, formed under the
order of the Minister of probation, penitentiary and legal
assistance of Georgia. Since 2012 – speaker of the Non-Government
Organization coalition “For Your Rights”. Since 2013 –member,
observer of the veteran status determination committee, invited by
the department of Veterans; Affairs of the Georgian Armed Forces.
December, 2013 – he was elected as the executive board member of
LEPL Georgian Bar Association. He had been presiding over the free
legal aid service of Georgian Bar Association since 2014. Since
2014 – he has been elected as the co-chair of the criminal
committee of Georgian Bar Association. Since 2014 – co-chair of the
attorney human right protection committee of LEPL Georgian Bar
Association. Since 2014 – he has been elected as the Justice and
Judicial Reforms Committee member of LEPL Georgian Bar Association.
Since 2014 - member of the State interagency committee work group.
Since 2014 - member of the work group of criminal and penitential
system reforms. Since 2015 – consultation board member of the
Ministry of Correlations of Georgia. Since 2016 – he was elected as
the chair of the independent professional council of Georgian
lawyers. December, 2017 (second term) – member of the executive
board of LEPL Georgian Bar Association. 2018 – He has been elected
as the member of the government of infrastructural development
center of NAPR Georgian Bar Association ; besides, he acts as the
founder and editorial panel chairperson of the noncommercial
newspapers “Mrtsamsi” and Human Rights and Arguments. He
participated in various meetings and conferences and serves as the
author/coauthor of countless publications and researches. Since May
16, 2020 G. Tevzadze is the chairman of the Public Center for
Research and Response to Anti-Corruption, Anti monopoly and
Negative Facts of Georgia (AIP). From September, 2020
Giorgi Tevzadze is a Chief Lawyer of the company
"Eco-Spectri" Ltd.
